Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Buhman (Baumli)

Elizabeth "Betty" Buhman (Baumli)
Elizabeth L. “Betty” Buhman
1951 - 2018

Elizabeth L. “Betty” Buhman, 66, of Darlington, Missouri passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at her home.

Betty was born on August 30, 1951 to Joseph L. and Dora L. (O’Riley) Baumli. She was a 1969 graduate of West Nodaway High School and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1972.

She was a school teacher at King City and Union Star Schools for 33 years retiring in 2009. Betty was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, President of the Altar Society and a member of the Missouri Retired Teacher Association.

She married Ed Buhman on May 27, 1972 in Maryville, Missouri, at St. Gregory Catholic Church. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include her children, Brian (Anna) Buhman, Ralston, Nebraska, Teri (Jason) Stoll, Stanberry, Missouri, Christopher (Amy) Buhman, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Kathy (Landon) Crawford, McFall, Missouri; her mother, Dora Baumli Moutray, Maryville, Missouri; sister, Linda Estes, Quitman, Missouri; brother, Larry (Pam) Baumli, Mesa, Arizona and twelve grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her father.

Burial St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri. Rosary 5:30pm Sunday, June 17th at St. Columba Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or St. Columba Cemetery.

Betty spent most of her life caring
for those around her.
Whether it was at school, home, or on the farm.
Not only was she kind and generous,
She was one of the hardest working people
you could hope to meet.

She found great pride and joy in her church,
work on the farm, and beautiful garden,
but most of all she loved her family.

She found immense joy in her
children and grandchildren,
and she was always ready to read, color, play,
or give some good snuggles and cuddles.

She was very proud of what a great job
her and Ed did raising their children.

She was truly one of a kind, and those
who were lucky enough to know her were blessed.

She leaves behind a wonderful legacy,
but also a void that can never be filled.
