1939-2018

Ervin Dean Hawk, 78, Ravenwood, MO passed from this life on May 15, 2018 at his home.

Dean was born on September 12, 1939 in Redding, Iowa to George B. and Margaret E. Hawk. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in Maryville, MO in 1957. He attended Northwest Missouri State University for two years. Dean was a soldier in the Army Reserves for six years and also worked at the Maryville Sale Barn, Henry Boy's Painting and was a rural mail carrier. Dean was united in marriage to Connie Fare on September 28, 1960 at the United Methodist Church in Ravenwood. Dean and Connie were married for 57 years. To this union two daughters were born. Dean and Connie operated a Grade A dairy farm for 51 years. Dean was also a cattleman and was chosen as the Outstanding Young Farmer of Nodaway County in 1974. Dean loved being around his grandchildren, enjoyed telling jokes, watching rodeo and reading.

He was preceded in death by his parents George B. and Margaret E. Hawk, sister Joanne Hawk, great-grandson Issac Wagner, nieces Traci Majors, Melanie Defreece, Nephew Ryan Orey, father-in-law-Harold Fare and brother-in-law Fred Orey.

His survivors include: wife Connie of the home, two daughters Lisa (Harold M) Lyle, Ravenwood, Angelia Bever, Kansas City, MO, grandchildren Stephanie (Jeff ) Meyer, Ravenwood, Jennifer (Wes) Schopfer, Justin Bever, Savannah, MO, Aaron (Zara) Bever and Sydni McClain, Kansas City; great-grandchildren Dakota, Jacob, Brianna, Auston, Wyatt, Leila, Mansoor, Zaida, Rylie and Chloe; sister Garnett (Bill) Treese, Maryville, sisters-in-law Patsy Orey, Kathy (Charley) Brand, mother-in-law Helen Fare all of Ravenwood and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday May 18, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 AM, with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, all at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. The burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood.

Memorials and donations may be made to the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, MO.

Casual dress is prefered please.
