Elenora Louise "Corky" Reaksecker
Springfield, MO

Elenora Louise (Corky) Reaksecker, 99, passed away March 9, 2017, at James River Nursing Center in Springfield, MO.

Corky was born on January 6, 1918, in Pickering, Missouri, the daughter of Marvin S. and Nellie Carmichael. She graduated from Pickering High School in 1935, and attended Northwest Missouri State Teacher College in Maryville for two years, receiving a teaching certificate. She taught the one-room Mowery School until her marriage to Lester B. Reaksecker on June 25, 1938.

She and Les lived and worked in Maryville where they raised two children, Marvin and Linda. Corky worked as a real estate broker and later as assistant manager of Town and Country Dress Shop until retirement.

Corky was an active church and community volunteer and supporter of Northwest Missouri State University.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Les, brother Don Carmichael, sister Lois Hockensmith, brother-in-law Dave Hockensmith, daughter Linda Reynolds and great-grandson Tyler Anderson.

Son-in-Law: Robert Reynolds
Grandchildren: Janene (Bill), Jami, Jill (Nathan),
Marcianne (Chad), and Michael (Jennifer)
Great-Grandchildren: Abby, Will, Calvin, Jeremy, Charley,
Jordyn, Erica, Parker, Regan, Mixon, and Afton
Nephews, Nieces, and Many Loving Friends


A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 27th at the First United Methodist Church, Maryville. Visitation with the family will be before the service beginning at 1:00 PM.

Donations in Corky's name may be made to First United Methodist Church or the White Oak Cemetery Perpetual Fund (in care of Bob Whipple).
